Legalizations
Decks, finished basements, pools and other existing home updates require a Certificate of Occupancy. City Plans and Permits Inc. can help you obtain all of the necessary approvals from your local municipality to legalize your home improvements.
Open Permits
An "open permit" is a permit that never culminated with the issuance of a Certificate of Occupancy (indicating that the work has been completed and the permit has been closed). Homeowners often inherit this issue from a previous owner and it comes up when a new permit is applied for.
Drafting
We will come to your home and take measurements of the area(s) in question. We will then create blueprints—construction drawings or plans—to be used to file with the Building Department. City Plans and Permits Inc., as drafting experts, uses the latest version of AutoCAD, the industry standard in drafting software.
Building Department Research
City Plans and Permits Inc. can do all of the research necessary to provide you with the most up-to-date information on your home from the Building Department.
Application Filing
We will submit all of your paperwork to the appropriate departments and follow up until all permits are approved and in-hand.
